SINERGI DIPLOMASI PERTAHANAN DAN KEBIJAKAN LUAR NEGERI INDONESIA DALAM MENANGANI ANCAMAN KEAMANAN MARITIM NON-TRADISIONAL DI INDO-PASIFIK TAHUN 2014–2024

Abstract

This study examines the synergy between Indonesia’s defense diplomacy and foreign policy in addressing non-traditional maritime security threats in the Indo-Pacific region during the 2014–2024 period. Non-traditional threats, such as piracy, smuggling, illegal fishing, and the geopolitical tensions in the South China Sea, require Indonesia to adopt collaborative, adaptive, and multilateral approaches. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the research analyzes policy documents, international agreements, and Indonesia’s defense diplomacy initiatives at bilateral, regional, and multilateral levels. The findings indicate that Indonesia has successfully integrated defense instruments and foreign policy through active participation in ASEAN, strengthening maritime security cooperation with strategic partners, and advancing national policies that emphasize the vision of the Global Maritime Fulcrum.
